The Constitution Speaks explores how the first three articles of the Constitution layout and assign the powers of the federal government across three branches. When the founding fathers forged the United States of America from the 13 British colonies, Benjamin Franklin was said to have proclaimed the creation of “a Republic...If we can Keep it.” This presentation highlights some of the key rules, rights and responsibilities necessary for the maintenance of a healthy and successful democracy. Interactive discussion topics include: What are the Charters of Freedom? What does each say? What was the thinking behind their creation? What do they mean for us today?

The Finkelstein Memorial Library is a free public library founded in 1917, now serving 130,000 people in the East Ramapo Central School District of Rockland County, New York.
