Join YIVO’s Director of Education Ben Kaplan for a tour through A Seat at the Table: A Journey into Jewish Food, the most popular course in YIVO’s Shine Online Educational Series with over 12,000 student registrations around the world to date. A Seat at the Table is a comprehensive exploration of Ashkenazi Jewish foodways and includes hundreds of archival objects, video lectures with leading food historians, cooking demonstrations with chefs and cookbook authors, free downloadable recipes and more. This online tour will cover some of the most fascinating and least understood aspects of Ashkenazi Jewish cuisine, with time for Q+A and an opportunity to reflect on the past, present, and future of Jewish food.

The Finkelstein Memorial Library is a free public library founded in 1917, now serving 130,000 people in the East Ramapo Central School District of Rockland County, New York.
